Raney Rogers

Raney Rogers has been painting professionally for twenty-seven years and opened the first art gallery in West Jefferson fourteen years ago.  She exhibits her work regularly and has won numerous awards for her depictions of wildlife, landscapes, botanicals and nauticals.   Rogers’ paintings are included in corporate and private collections throughout the US and Internationally.
Raney regularly travels throughout the US and abroad to find new subject matter to paint plein air or photographs to bring back to her studio in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  Her work has been published in a variety of media and she teaches painting workshops at Cheap Joes, Jerry’s Artarama, the Florence School of Art and by invitation to arts groups.  Rogers is currently writing a book about her flourishing career in the Blue Ridge which includes illustrations and a book cover by the artist.  Rogers has completed over 1,000 works of art and offers giclee reproductions of most of her images.  Raney is treasurer of the North Carolina Wildlife Artist’s Society whose mission is to promote the awareness of our flora and fauna and conservation and appreciation of our environment for many years to come.  Rogers’ work has been featured in the North Carolina Wildlife Calendar for the past four years.
