I've always believed I was born with a crayon in my hand as I've been drawing or painting in some way all of my life.

We live in a rural area of Chatham County, NC and are surrounded by wildlife of various kinds. We have a remarkable variety of birds plus, nearly every day we can see deer, wild turkey, coyotes, fox and other wild animals.

I currently paint in pastel, watercolors (especially gouache, pronounced "gawash,", which is an opaque watercolor) and have rekindled an old love of oil painting. I also work in acrylics (including acrylic ink) and professional colored pencil from time to time.

My favorite subjects have always been animals and I was a pet portrait artist for many years. It's only natural that I would choose to paint the wildlife that abounds here on our farm and in the rest of our state.
