Dana King lives in Surf City on Topsail Island, NC. Her artwork is inspired by the awesome variety of creatures that are found in nature--specifically surrounding the ocean & salt marshes of North Carolina. Dana specializes in two different types of artwork: watercolors and acrylics. Her watercolors are a unique blend of colored wax resist combined with watercolor techniques to create whimsical impressions of wildlife. Some of her subjects range from ghost crabs & pelicans - seahorses & sea turtles. Dana's acrylics often combine three-dimensional paint and texture mediums as well as some collage materials and the use of iridescent glazes.

Ms. King is an exhibiting member of the Wilmington.Art Association and Christians In the Visual Arts. Her artwork is available at "Lula Balou" in Wilmington & "Quartermaster's Restaurant & Tavern" in Surf City, NC.

Dana is also a full time art teacher at Topsail Middle School in Hampstead, NC. She enjoys sharing her love of nature & wildlife art conservation through her art lessons at school. B.S. Art Education
