Alan Cheek is an interpretive artist of the things he sees. Born with a God given talent of possessing the desire to "picture" the beauty of the earth, and especially coastal North Carolina. He says the process of painting the vision is laborious when compared with the viewing of the inspirational scene. The openness and fluidity of our coastal environment welcomes the desire to recreate. From childhood to now, the intuitive and fresh nature of capturing a subject with paint, never releases me from the timidness of the first strokes of color. Each work is unto itself a unique process; arriving to a realistic presentation that hopefully captures what i saw to be important enough to warrant the hours of placing paint on the canvas. Thank you for your patronage.
